| How to use | 1. Plan the Cable Route Before installation, measure the required cable route and allow a small amount of additional length for routing, termination, and future adjustments. Plan the 305m Cat5e cable run away from unnecessary sharp bends, heat sources, moving parts, and areas where the black cable could be crushed or damaged. 2. Cut the Required Cable Length Unwind the required amount of cable carefully from the roll without creating tight loops, twists, or kinks. Use a suitable cable cutter to make a clean cut and avoid pulling excessively on the AWG24 solid conductors while routing the cable through walls, trunking, conduits, or other installation paths. 3. Prepare the Cable Ends Carefully remove a short section of the outer jacket using an appropriate cable stripping tool without damaging the internal twisted pairs or shielding. Keep the twisted pairs together as close as practical to the termination point to help maintain consistent network performance. 4. Terminate with RJ45 Connectors Arrange the individual conductors according to the required T568A or T568B wiring standard, using the same standard at both ends for a normal straight-through network cable. Insert the conductors fully into a compatible RJ45 connector and crimp securely using a suitable networking crimping tool. 5. Maintain the FTP Shielding When using the shielded FTP construction, prepare and terminate the shielding carefully with compatible shielded networking components where required. Avoid removing more shielding than necessary and keep the cable structure intact around the termination area for a neat and reliable installation. 6. Connect the Network Equipment Connect the completed cable between compatible equipment such as routers, switches, patch panels, CCTV systems, IP cameras, DSL or ADSL devices. For PoE applications, make sure the connected equipment, connectors, cable length, and power requirements are suitable for the intended installation before supplying power through the network cable. 7. Test and Inspect the Connection Use a suitable network cable tester after termination to check conductor continuity, wiring order, shorts, open connections, and incorrect pair arrangements. Inspect the complete cable route for tight bends, crushed sections, damaged outer jacket, loose connectors, or excessive tension before putting the network connection into regular use. 8. Secure and Store Remaining Cable Secure the installed cable neatly using suitable clips, trunking, conduit, or cable-management accessories without overtightening around the jacket. Coil any unused cable loosely and store the remaining roll in a clean, dry location away from excessive heat, moisture, sharp objects, and heavy items until required for another installation. |
